The Gift Of Ramadan

As one of the Five Pillars of Islam, Ramadan is an annual observance and lasts for a month. Ramadan is with intense devotion and fasting. Fasting lasts from dawn to sunset everyday and is broken, traditionally, with dates.

Every aspect of Ramadan is aimed at reviving and reinforcing faith and empathy. For instance, fasting gives Muslims the opportunity to remember that there are people in the world who do not get enough food. And therefore, they can be charitable and generous.

The sublime concept of  ‘Sawm’ is more than just fasting. It is a profound exercise in self-restraint which includes control over one’s thoughts as well. And after sunset, families gather together in breaking the fast with a meal called Iftar which, traditionally, begins with dates.

So, if you have the opportunity to be a part of this immensely significant tradition, then you can always take along a gift of dates or apricots for iftar. There are many corporate gifts you can consider as well including charitable donations made in the name of your employee, hampers of dry fruits and even beautiful tasbeeh prayer beads.

And here’s wishing you Ramadan Mubarak from all of us at GiftCloud Solutions.
